Simon's General Store — Hand-Embellished Canvas Reproduction

Canvas size: 8 × 10 inches

What you receive: a gallery-wrapped canvas, hand-embellished and signed by the artist, with black-painted sides. It needs no frame and no hanging hardware: the wooden frame on the back hangs on a single nail and sits flush against the wall. A sawtooth hanger or wire is easy to add if you prefer. The photo shows the original painting. Each canvas is embellished by hand, so the brushwork on yours will differ.

Here is Simon’s General Store in downtown Petoskey, Michigan. An old black truck carrying barrels waits at the curb before the red brick front, with more barrels set beside the white columns and tall blue windows. Roman once lived half a block away and was a regular; his family even bought all the store’s cheese to make fondue from scratch, and it worked. Peach clouds stream across a lavender sky in thick, quick strokes. Reproduced from the original oil painting by Roman.
