Flowers at Marion Lake

Here is a bouquet from the local florist, set in a glass vase inside a friend’s cottage on Marion Lake near Charlevoix, Michigan, a small inland lake where loons nest. The cottage once stood in Charlevoix before it was moved out to the lake. Orange, pink, white and yellow blooms crowd beneath violet spires, two blue-and-white lidded jars sit on the tray, and the butter-yellow walls flicker with thick peach dashes.
