Coneflowers and black-eyed Susans crowd the foreground of a high-summer meadow, with lupines, white hydrangea, and a soft band of distant trees pulling the eye back. A pink-purple underpainting glows through the greens and shadows — a quiet warmth running beneath all that bright, jostling color. Reproduced from the original oil and oil pastel painting by Roman.
