Funnel cakes and corn dogs

Here is a little funnel cake and corn dog stand in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, that has been around forever. When Roman’s daughter was little, it was her regular stop on weekends in town, and to this day she can’t pass up a funnel cake. The red shop, trimmed in scalloped white with OPEN signs in the window and door, sits against a stone wall beside a climbing staircase. Two iron benches wait out front and autumn leaves glow at the corner, all laid on in thick strokes with dark, lively outlines. This painting is still wet and will not ship until December 11 at the earliest.
